Reflective process

My studio project is the development of a full scale A1 promotional poster. I have decided to create an Art/Design exhibition poster called City Alphabet in the style of Swiss modernism.

I have currently obtained a full alphabet through taking photographic images in both urban and city landscapes capturing hidden letter forms that everyday people would just walk past.

I am currently editing my images in both Adobe photoshop and Indesign, I prefer my images in the monochromatic state as I like the more dramatic mood feeling compared to the coloured set.

so far the only challenges I have experienced through this task is finding the letter G. however I have now obtained one. done below can be seen my original set of the alphabet.

After discussing with my tutor Wes we decided that the set wasn’t really working together as a collective, so I decided to gather more images to create a more cohesive set. this set can be seen below in both black and white and colour.

As I begin to create these images into Vectors by transferring the files into Adobe illustrator to start create my A1 promotional Poster I am taking inspiration from the Swiss modernism period. this can be seen in the colour and In the changing of the opacity of various text so that the text can overlap and still be easily readable. and example of a Swiss Modernism poster is seen below.
