This BCM110 subject introduces the ways of understanding media and communication practices, institutions and technologies. It takes an interdisciplinary approach to understanding how producers and consumers interact in a media saturated world. It looks at the ways in which the media has been discussed in theory and in practice, and go on to examine how our communication practices and adoption and use of different technologies are integrated with our professional, social and political lives.

I love how you went into depth about the graffiti artist and photographer. It really gives good background information on what kind of person has taken these complex images and what kind of themes goes for. You’ve included many images through the blog of the photographer’s work which is good but it could have been better focusing on one image. You could have improved your blog if you analysed all the possible ways an individual may interpret the complex image. You ended the blog with a question for the reader which I love! It really makes the audience engage and think for themselves.

I like how you went in depth on the background of Netflix and how streaming media has changed the way we as an audience perceive and watch our media. You don’t see that side from a lot of other blogs and it was definitely informative. So many people have different experiences on Netflix depending on the context (eg. Who you’re with, time of the day etc) and it would’ve been great to hear about maybe a particular experience you’ve had and what made it interesting/special. Other than that I really enjoyed it and thought it was a good read. Keep it up.
